Zrće is a long pebble beach in the island of Pag. It is located near Gajac and Novalja. Zrće is a famous Croatian summer destination for young people who love to party. There are several beach bars and all-hours discotheques, which are operating during summer months. The most well-known clubs are Papaya, Kalypso, Club Noa, Pacha, WBK Zrce, Aquarius and Euphoria.
Botanical Garden in Zagreb is a large, English-style garden created in 1890 by Antun Heinz. The garden, covering an area of 50.000 sq meters, is an oasis of tranquility in which to escape the bustle of the town, and for this reason it is a popular place in which to stroll. There are about 10.000 plant species here, including around 1.800 tropical plants from all over the world, with Asia particularly well represented.
Kumrovec was the birthplace of Marshal Tito, born Josip Broz in 1892. His house was turned into a museum in 1953. We can see the furniture and household goods which belonged to his family. In the square in front of the house is a monument to Tito. Along with other village houses, Tito’s birthplace is now part of a folk museum, the Ethnological Museum – Staro Selo, which means old village. The houses are furnished with household goods and utensils of the time.
Vrsar is a picturesque coastal town in Istria, Croatia. From Porec is just nine kilometers away. The inhabitants are mostly fishermen and winegrowers. Before the coast is a line of green islets. On the nearby hills are remains of Illyrian castles. From Roman settlement Usaria are traces in the port and its surroundings. From the Middle Ages have preserved the western town gates. Along them is the Church of St. Mary of the Sea, which is one of the most valuable Istrian Romanesque buildings.
Portoroz is the largest Slovenian seaside resort with a very favorable climate, lush vegetation and a centuries-old tradition. Sheltered sunny position in winter Portoroz defends against the cold weather. The beginnings of tourism date back to the middle of the 19th century. Portoroz has many bars, restaurants and hotels. The most famous hotel is a five – star deluxe Kempinski Palace Portoroz.
The Island of Pag is located in the northern Adriatic Sea. The island has the longest coastline and it is the fifth-largest island of the Croatian coast. It has two mountain chains running parallel to the coast. The small main island town Pag occupies a sheltered bay facing the mainland. The Island of Pag is renowned for its delicious sheep’s cheese and its clean waters, but it is also well-known for its beautiful lace. The most known places in the island are Zrće, Novalja, Gajac, Metajna, Pag, Šimuni and others.
Koper is the largest town on the Slovenian coast. It has a picturesque old town, where the main attractions are the Praetorian Palace, the City Loggia, the Cathedral of Mary’s Assumption, the Town Tower, Taverna and many other. The area suburs Žusterna is intended primarily for tourism, entertainment and recreational activities. Marina Koper is located close to the old town. It is a popular port of transit, because it has a good location and is protected from the winds.
The beautiful city of Krk developed in the Middle Ages on the site of the Roman town of Curicum. The old town of Krk is encircled by stone walls which together with the four gates and forts define the ancient part of the city. There are three preserved defense forts: the City Hall, the multi – angular Tower and the Frankopan Castle. Inside town walls there are stone cobbled streets with coffee bars, restaurants, shops, souvenir shops and galleries. The town of Krk is a very attractive and most visited place on the island of Krk.
The Church of St. Primus and St. Felician in the small village of Jamnik is considered as one of the most beautiful and picturesque Slovenian historical monuments. It is located on the verge of a prominence, which, on account of its visibility throughout the Gorenjska region, also served as a non-fortified signaling post in the time of Turkish invasions. The church consists of a rectangular nave, a trilatteraly coupled presbytery and a bell tower, leanded against the nave and covered with pyramid-shaped roof. The facade of the nave with painted graphite grey comerstones of Renaissance and Baroque conceals older, medieval core.
Planina above Vrhnika is about 745 metres high hill, which is located in the vicinity of the town Vrhnika. It is a destination that is very popular among local people. At the top there is a mountain hut and a wooden lookout tower. In the hut they offer a variety of local dishes and refreshing drinks. There you can also get a cup of Cankar’s Coffee. The first cup of coffee in Vrhnika arose from the pen of the famous Slovenian writer named Ivan Cankar. Centuries late, they designed a new story about delicious coffee. It is roasted in a family company in Vrhnika.
